Finals Week... bleh

I was up until 2 am studying with a classmate for a test I have on Wednesday. I got up this morning for my 8 am doctor's appointment. It was time for us to look at my MRI from last week to find out what the heck is in my foot that is causing me such pain. Turns out, I have a joint cyst growing around a nerve and a blood vessel. The only way to get rid of it is surgery. I'd be on crutches for about a week or two until I feel better to walk on it. Then I just wait for it to heal. Oy. The doctor said no running for 6 weeks. I think I may go nuts.

Anyway, my prerequisite classes will be finished on Thursday. That is the day of my last final. Yippee!! Then all nursing classes begin in August!! I've already signed up for my classes and been awarded financial aid. I am so excited, and I am no longer bummed about not getting into Georgetown. Actually, I think that Maryland will be a much better fit for me. So, it all worked out.

I will be taking 18 credit hours the first semester. My classes are:

NURS 501: Pathopharmacology and Pharmacology Bases for Nursing Practice (5)

NURS 503: Health Assessment (3)

NURS 505: Introduction to Professional Nursing Practice (4)

NURS 507: Introduction to Nursing and the Clinical Nurse Leader Role (3)

NURS 622: Systems and Populations in Health Care (3)

It is going to be A LOT of work, but I can do it. I can't wait to start clinicals and actually apply what I learn to the real world.

In about a month or so, I really need to start the apartment hunt for a lease beginning August 1. I don't know too much about Baltimore, so I plan on taking a trip or two up there and just walk around to get a feel for what areas are alright and what areas are not so good. If anyone knows anything about Baltimore and/or the area around UMAB, let me know! I could use all the advice I can get.
