New Try: TJ's Simmer Sauce & Beer

I loved the last few new foods I tried from Trader Joe's, so on my shopping endeavor this week, I wanted to pick up some more new grub to try. This week, I picked up a sampling of new beers (you can buy them individually and mix-and-match.) I also picked up Trader Joe's Thai Green Curry Simmer Sauce to try with chicken. Here were the ingredients to this delicious dinner:

How I made it:
I cooked the boil-in-bag jasmine rice per the directions on the box while making the other half of the dish. I cut up one chicken breast and cooked the pieces with a little bit of olive oil in the pan. Once the chicken was done, I threw in the simmer sauce (enough sauce to my personal liking), frozen peas and cashews. Let it all simmer while the rice was finishing up.

THEN... combined in a bowl and enjoyed with one of the new brews I bought: Anchor Steam Beer, brewed in San Francisco. Tim is in San Fran on business right now, so I drank to him.

On the workout front, I went for my first bike ride yesterday on my new bike! It was so beautiful out, I took the bike down to the WO&D trail and biked for almost 45 minutes. I didn't want to go for too long -- I'd like to start slow so my body can get used to riding. I haven't really done any heavy riding since middle school (and this type of riding consisted of riding up to the neighborhood pool and back.)

Another fun little tidbit: on my run this morning, I spotted something very unique and cool in my neighbor's trash. Yes, I know this sounds gross, but my neighbor had clearly gone through his/her attic and put a bunch of suitcases, games and furniture out on the street for collecting. So, it is not trash in the sense that I combed through banana peels and leftover Chinese (ew!) This is all a very normal thing in NYC, so I didn't think anything of it when I drove back to her house to pick up this very cool 1940's-style suitcase with an old ("antique") airline tag still attached to the handle. I am very excited about it! It's going to be a great decorating piece.
